Where the shipowners dispute the statement presented by Mauritania, they may request the relevant scientific institutes, e.g. France's Institut de Recherche pour le Developpement (IRD), the Instituto Espanol de Oceanografia (IEO) and the Insituto Portugues de Investigacao Maritima (IPIMAR), to verify the catch data before consulting with the Mauritanian authorities with a view to drawing up the final statement by 15 May of the current year.

A provisional statement of the fees due for the fishing year shall be drawn up at the end of each calendar year on the basis of the catch statements made by the shipowners and forwarded simultaneously to the competent authorities of Sao Tome and Principe and the departments responsible at the Commission of the European Communities.

The masters of the vessels authorized under the terms of this Agreement to fish in the Cape Verde fishing zone shall be obliged to send their statements of catch to the Cape Verdean authorities, with a copy to the Delegation of the Commission of the European Communities in Praia, in accordance with the provisions set out in the Annex.

The final statement of the fees due for the fishing year shall be drawn up at the end of each calendar year by the Commission of the European Communities on the basis of catch declarations made by the vessel owners for each vessel and confirmed by scientific institutions empowered to verify catch data, such as the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD), the Instituto Espańol de Oceanografía (IEO), the Instituto Portuguęs de Investigaçăo Marítima (IPIMAR) and the Instituto Nacional de Investigaçăo Pesqueira (IIP).

Deep-water fishing vessels targeting crab authorised to fish in Săo Tomé and Príncipe's exclusive economic zone under the Agreement shall notify their catch statistics to the Săo Tomé and Príncipe Ministry responsible for fisheries through the Delegation of the Commission responsible for Săo Tomé and Príncipe using the form given in Appendix 3. "5. Each year for five consecutive years from the date of constitution of the joint enterprise or the date on which the Community partner acquired holdings in the enterprise, applicants shall submit to the management authority a report on the implementation of the activity plan, including data on catches and markets of fisheries products, in particular products landed in or exported to the Community, with supporting documents, together with the enterprise's balance sheet and a statement of its net worth.

B.Statement of catch

Statements of catch by trawler owners

(2)non-renewal of fishing licence for failure to supply statements of catch;

FOR TRAWLERS, THE STATEMENT OF CATCHES FORESEEN IN ARTICLE 6 SHALL BE MADE EVERY MONTH ACCORDING TO THE ATTACHED SPECIMEN.

The SFA will draw up a statement of fees due in respect of the previous calendar year on the basis of catch declarations by Community vessels and other information in the possession of the SFA.

The vessels authorised under the terms of this Agreement to fish in Gabon's fishing zone shall be obliged to send their statements of catch to the Gabonese authorities, in accordance with the provisions set out in the Annex.

All vessels authorized to fish in Senegalese water under the Agreement shall be obliged to forward to the Direction de l'Océanographie et des Peches maritimes a statement of their catch made out according to the attached specimen.

Vessels authorized to fish in the Côte d'Ivoire fishing zone under this Agreement shall send their statements of catch to the sea-fishing services with a copy to the Delegation of the Commission of the European Communities in Côte d'Ivoire, as follows:

A PROVISIONAL STATEMENT OF THE FEES DUE FOR THE FISHING YEAR SHALL BE DRAWN UP BY THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES AT THE END OF EACH FISHING YEAR ON THE BASIS OF THE CATCH STATEMENTS MADE BY THE SHIPOWNERS AND FORWARDED SIMULTANEOUSLY TO THE AUTHORITIES OF THE GAMBIA AND THE COMMISSION DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBLE.

THE VESSELS AUTHORIZED UNDER THIS AGREEMENT TO FISH IN THE GAMBIA'S FISHING ZONE SHALL BE OBLIGED TO FORWARD TO THE RELEVANT GAMBIAN AUTHORITIES STATEMENTS OF CATCHES, WITH A COPY TO THE DELEGATION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES IN BANJUL, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ARRANGEMENTS SET OUT IN THE ANNEX.

A provisional statement of the fees due for the fishing year shall be drawn up at the end of each calendar year on the basis of the catch statements made by the shipowners and forwarded simultaneously to the competent authorities of Sao Tomé and Principe and the departments responsible at the Commission of the European Communities.
