Scope of the Programme

The scope of Regulation (EC) No 1829/2003 includes food which consists of, contains or is produced from genetically modified organisms (GMOs) such as genetically modified plants and micro-organisms.

The scope of the procedure under this Article may be widened, in accordance with the procedure provided for in Article N(2) of the Treaty on European Union, on the basis of a report to be submitted to the Council by the Commission by 1996 at the latest.

The scope of Directive 92/6/EEC should be extended to motor vehicles of category M2, to vehicles of category M3 having a maximum mass of more than 5 tonnes but not exceeding 10 tonnes and to vehicles of category N2.
