a check of the production and health records of the holding must be carried out, if these records are available;

The seal may include an indication of the official veterinarian who carried out the health inspection of the fresh meat.

The Member States shall ensure that each batch of fresh meat is subjected to a public health inspection on importation and to an animal health inspection carried out by an official veterinarian.

The stamp seal may also include an indication of the official veterinarian who carried out the health inspection of the meat.

The above transactions shall continue to be subject to the public health checks provided for in national rules.

'health inspection` means a visit by an official service or services for the purpose of conducting health checks on a farm or zone;

Where the poultry has not been slaughtered within three days of its examination and the issue of the health attestation provided for in point 25 (a) (i):

keeping under review the adaptation of the abovementioned training to developments in nursing practice, medical and social science and teaching methods.

In order to ensure that the health status of a living donor is not affected by the donation, a prior medical examination should be required.

or, after assessing the reasons for the delay, the official veterinarian of the slaughterhouse shall authorize slaughter if there is no health reason to prevent it, if need be following a further examination of the poultry.

These examinations should be decided upon for each worker when he is the subject of medical surveillance, in the light of the most recent knowledge available to occupational medicine.

COUNCIL DIRECTIVE of 12 December 1972 on health and veterinary inspection problems upon importation of bovine animals and swine and fresh meat from third countries

Whereas a system of approval should be introduced for the establishments which meet the health requirements laid down by this Directive, together with a Community inspection procedure to ensure that the conditions for such approval are observed;

establishing special health checks for the harvesting and processing of certain bivalve molluscs with a level of amnesic shellfish poison (ASP) exceeding the limit laid down by Council Directive 91/492/EEC

Regulation (EC) No 998/2003 lays down the animal health requirements applicable to the non-commercial movement of pet animals and the rules applying to checks on such movement.

Article 1 of the Convention of 28 May 1999 to waive the refund of costs of benefits in kind for sickness, maternity, accidents at work and occupational diseases and the costs incurred for administrative checks and medical examinations.

By way of derogation from this provision and at the request of the consignee or his representative, the Member State carrying out the animal health and public health inspections may authorize their entry for use other than for human consumption, to the extent that there is no danger for humans or for animals.

The Government of the Hellenic Republic declares that, except in respect of fresh citrus fruit, cotton and lucerne seed, it shall apply the simplification of plant-health checks and requirements referred to in Article 121 of the 1990 Convention from the date of signature of the Agreement on Accession to the 1990 Convention.

Whereas, in order to verify that the provisions of this Directive are complied with by the exporting third country and to prevent importation of meat dangerous to human health, the Member States must submit every consignment of fresh meat upon importation to health and veterinary inspection which must be carried out by an official veterinarian;

Although it is not possible to examine all the products presented for export, because the capacity for laboratory analysis is limited, where the sound and fair marketable quality of a product is the object of definite suspicions further verifications should be carried out; if necessary by means of laboratory testing;

The provisions of legislation of Japan make the "Inspection and Safety Division (ISD) of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare" responsible for inspecting the health of bivalve molluscs, echinoderms, tunicates and marine gastropods and for monitoring the hygiene and sanitary conditions of production.

The development of the integrated computerised veterinary system Traces, provided for by Commission Decision 2003/623/EC(3), involves the standardisation of documents relating to the declaration and checks so that the data gathered can be properly managed and processed in order to improve health safety in the Community.
