Odbor za zdravila za uporabo v veterinarski medicini (CVMP) je odločil, da so koristi zdravila DEXDOMITOR večje od njegovih tveganj pri: • neinvazivnih, blago do zmerno bolečih postopkih in pregledih psov in mačk, pri katerih so potrebni mirovanje, sedacija in analgezija; • uporabi pri mačkah in psih, kjer zdravilo služi kot priprava na splošno anestezijo (s ketaminom pri mačkah) in za njeno vzdrževanje; • globoki sedaciji in analgeziji psov ob sočasni uporabi z butorfanolom za zdravniške in manjše kirurške posege.
