It shall detail the methodology, rules and, where applicable, scales used for the application of Article 7(4) and (5) and Articles 8 and 9. It shall contain information on changes in charges already decided upon or foreseen.

whereas the Annex to Commission Regulation (EEC) No 2930/81 of 12 October 1981 adopting additional provisions for the application of the Community scale for the classification of carcases of adult bovine animals (3) should be adapted accordingly;

amending Regulation (EEC) No 563/82 laying down detailed rules for the application of Regulation (EEC) No 1208/81 for establishing the market prices of adult bovine animals on the basis of the Community scale for the classification of carcases

The Council, acting on a proposal from the Commission, shall decide before 31 March 1982, in the light of the said report, on the date from which the establishment of market prices and application of intervention measures shall be effected on the basis of the Community scale.

However, until 31 December 1988, Member States may continue to apply the scale for grading pig carcases laid down in the Regulation referred to in the first paragraph instead of the scale determined in this Regulation.

On packs the weight-grading shall be indicated by the respective letters or by the respective terms as defined in paragraph 1 or by a combination of both, which may be supplemented by the corresponding weight ranges.

The refractometer must have a thermometer with a scale extending at least from + 15 ° C to + 25 ° C. It must also have a water circulator enabling the temperature to be adjusted with an accuracy of ±0, 5°C.

Persons having an interest may consult the register at the Registry and may obtain copies or extracts on payment of a charge on a scale fixed by the Court on a proposal from the Registrar.

In that event, the Member States shall notify the Commission of their decision, specifying the maximum permitted number of slaughters in each of the slaughtering establishments which are exempt from application of the Community scale.

Private storage aid may be granted for fresh or chilled meat of adult bovine animals presented in the form of carcases, half-carcases, compensated quarters, forequarters or hindquarters, classified in accordance with the Community scale.

The scale referred to in paragraph 1 above shall be used by all slaughterhouses for grading all carcases in order to enable producers to receive fair payment based on the weight and composition of the pigs they have delivered to the slaughterhouse.

Reference to acidity in isolation wrongly suggests a scale of absolute quality which is misleading for consumers since this factor represents a qualitative value only in relation to the other characteristics of the olive oil concerned.
