Europol officials may participate in a support capacity in joint investigation teams, including those teams set up in accordance with Article 1 of the Framework Decision of 13 June 2002 on joint investigation teams or in accordance with Article 13 of the Convention of 29 May 2000 on mutual assistance in criminal matters between the Member States of the European Union, as far as those teams are investigating criminal offences for which Europol is competent under Article 2. Europol officials may, within the limits provided for by the law of the Member State where the joint investigation team operates and in accordance with the arrangement referred to in paragraph 2, assist in all activities and exchange information with all members of the joint investigation team, in accordance with paragraph 3. However, they shall not take part in the taking of any coercive measures.
Uradniki Europola lahko v podporni funkciji sodelujejo v skupnih preiskovalnih skupinah, vključno s skupinami, ustanovljenimi v skladu s členom 1 Okvirnega sklepa z dne 13. junija 2002 o skupnih preiskovalnih skupinah ali v skladu s členom 13 Konvencije z dne 29. maja 2000 o medsebojni pravni pomoči v kazenskih zadevah med državami članicami Evropske unije, kolikor te skupine preiskujejo kazniva dejanja, za katera je pristojen Europol na podlagi člena 2. Officers of one of the Contracting Parties who, as part of a criminal investigation, are keeping under surveillance in their country a person who is presumed to have participated in an extraditable criminal offence shall be authorised to continue their surveillance in the territory of another Contracting Party where the latter has authorised cross-border surveillance in response to a request for assistance made in advance.
Policisti ene od pogodbenic, ki kot del preiskave kaznivega dejanja v svoji državi tajno opazujejo oziroma sledijo osebo, ki je domnevno sodelovala pri kaznivem dejanju, za katerega se lahko zahteva izročitev, lahko nadaljujejo svoje tajno opazovanje oziroma sledenje na ozemlju druge pogodbenice, če je ta dovolila čezmejno tajno opazovanje oziroma sledenje na podlagi vnaprejšnjega zaprosila za pravno pomoč.

Therefore, on the basis of their administrative autonomy, all the institutions, bodies and offices and agencies should entrust to the Office the task of conducting internal administrative investigations with a view to bringing to light serious situations relating to the discharge of professional duties which may constitute a failure to comply with the obligations of officials and servants of the Communities, as referred to in Articles 11, 12, second and third paragraphs, 13, 14, 16 and 17, first paragraph, of the Staff Regulations of Officials and the Conditions of Employment of Other Servants of the European Communities (hereinafter referred to as 'the Staff Regulations'), detrimental to the interests of those Communities and liable to result in disciplinary or, in appropriate cases, criminal proceedings, or serious misconduct, as referred to in Article 22 of the Staff Regulations, or a failure to comply with the analogous obligations of the Members or staff of the European Parliament not subject to the Staff Regulations;
Zato morajo vse institucije, organi ter uradi in agencije na podlagi svoje institucionalne avtonomije na Urad prenesti nalogo izvajanja notranjih preiskav, namenjenih odkrivanjem hujših primerov v zvezi z opravljanjem poklicnih nalog, ki lahko pomenijo kršitev obveznosti uradnikov in uslužbencev Skupnosti iz členov 11, 12, drugi in tretji odstavek, 13, 14, 16 in 17, prvi odstavek, kadrovskih predpisov za uradnike in pogojev za zaposlitev drugih uslužbencev Evropskih skupnosti (v nadaljevanju " kadrovski predpisi"), ki škodijo interesom omenjenih skupnosti in jih je mogoče disciplinsko ali po potrebi kazensko preganjati, ali hujših kršitev iz člena 22 kadrovskih predpisov ali kršitve primerljivih obveznosti poslancev ali zaposlenih Evropskega parlamenta, za katere ne veljajo kadrovski predpisi.

Officers of one of the Member States who are keeping a person under surveillance in their country as part of a criminal investigation into an extraditable criminal offence because he is suspected of involvement in an extraditable criminal offence or, as a necessary part of a criminal investigation, because there is serious reason to believe that he can assist in identifying or tracing such a person, shall be authorised to continue their surveillance in the territory of another Member State where the latter has authorised cross-border surveillance in response to a request for assistance made in advance with supporting reasons.
Uradniki ene od držav članic, ki v sklopu kazenske preiskave nadzorujejo v svoji državi osebo osumljeno storitve kaznivega dejanja, za katerega se lahko zahteva izročitev, ali pa osebo, ki je nujna v omenjeni preiskavi, ker se na podlagi tehtnih razlogov meni, da lahko sodeluje pri identifikaciji ali izsleditvi prve omenjene osebe, so pooblaščeni za nadaljevanje nadzora na ozemlju druge države članice, če je slednja dovolila čezmejni nadzor v odgovor na prošnjo za pomoč, ki je bila predhodno vložena na podlagi dokaznih razlogov.
