If, in the case referred to in the second paragraph of the present Article, the amount in dispute stated in the action is evidently too high or too low, thereby putting into question the subject-matter jurisdiction or the right to revision, the court shall, not later than upon the main hearing and before even before the main subject of dispute commences to be tried, examine the correctness of the stated amount in an expeditious and appropriate manner.

The Court of First Instance may, on application by the applicant or the defendant, after hearing the other parties and the Advocate General, decide, having regard to the particular urgency and the circumstances of the case, to adjudicate under an expedited procedure.

On application by the applicant or the defendant, the President may exceptionally decide, on the basis of a recommendation by the Judge-Rapporteur and after hearing the other party and the Advocate General, that a case is to be determined pursuant to an expedited procedure derogating from the provisions of these Rules, where the particular urgency of the case requires the Court to give its ruling with the minimum of delay.
