Article 8 shall constitute measures amending or based upon the provisions referred to in Annex A to the Agreement concluded by the Council of the European Union with the Republic of Iceland and the Kingdom of Norway concerning the latters' association with the implementation, application and development of the Schengen acquis (*3) (hereinafter referred to as the "Association Agreement").

Consequently, it is necessary that measures for the promotion of gender-balanced representation be introduced in leading management bodies in the area of economy, social partners' organisations, other associations and non-governmental organisations.

Establishing and implementing mechanisms for systematic monitoring and promotion of a gender-balanced representation in decision-making positions in the area of economy, in trade unions, associations and organisations, including special measures and programmes

The implementation of the provisions of this Convention by Parties, in particular the enjoyment of measures to protect and promote the rights of victims, shall be secured without discrimination on any ground such as sex, race, colour, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, association with a national minority, property, birth or other status.

4 Each Party shall adopt such legislative or other measures as may be necessary to provide, when necessary, appropriate protection from potential retaliation or intimidation in particular during and after investigation and prosecution of perpetrators, for members of groups, foundations, associations or non-governmental organisations which carry out the activities set out in Article 27, paragraph 3.

The provisions of Articles 3, 5, 6, 7, 12 and 23 and, to the extent relevant to Article 12, of Articles 15 and 16, to the extent relevant to the Articles referred to, of Article 1 constitute measures amending or building upon the provisions referred to in Annex A to the Agreement concluded by the Council of the European Union and the Republic of Iceland and the Kingdom of Norway concerning the latters` association with the implementation, application and development of the Schengen acquis.

3 Each Party shall ensure, by means of legislative or other measures, in accordance with the conditions provided for by its internal law, to any group, foundation, association or non-governmental organisations which aims at fighting trafficking in human beings or protection of human rights, the possibility to assist and/or support the victim with his or her consent during criminal proceedings concerning the offence established in accordance with Article 18 of this Convention.

Recalling the terms of existing international labour Conventions and Recommendations - in particular the Freedom of Association and Protection of the Right to Organise Convention, 1948, the Right to Organise and Collective Bargaining Convention, 1949, and the Consultation (Industrial and National Levels) Recommendation, 1960 - which affirm the right of employers and workers to establish free and independent organisations and call for measures to promote effective consultation at the national level between public authorities and employers' and workers' organisations, as well as the provisions of numerous international labour Conventions and Recommendations which provide for the consultation of employers' and workers' organisations on measures to give effect thereto, and

Subsequent to the imposition of provisional measures, some Associations of fish processing industries submitted comments opposing to the measures.

In order to obtain the information it deems necessary for its investigation, the Commission will send questionnaires to the exporters/producers and to the associations of exporters/producers in Thailand, the exporters/producers and to the associations of exporters/producers in China, to the importers and to the associations of importers in the Community which cooperated in the investigation that lead to the existing measures and to the authorities of China and Thailand.

In order to obtain the information it deems necessary for its investigation, the Commission will send questionnaires to the exporters/producers and to the associations of exporters/producers in Sri Lanka, the exporters/producers and to the associations of exporters/producers in the People's Republic of China, to the importers and to the associations of importers in the Community which cooperated in the investigation that lead to the existing measures and to the authorities of the People's Republic of China and Sri Lanka.

In order to obtain the information it deems necessary for its investigation, the Commission will send questionnaires to the exporters/producers and to the associations of exporters/producers in Indonesia, the exporters/producers and to the associations of exporters/producers in the People's Republic of China, to the importers and to the associations of importers in the Community which cooperated in the investigation that lead to the existing measures and to the authorities of the People's Republic of China and Indonesia.

In order to obtain the information it deems necessary for its investigation, the Commission will send questionnaires to the exporters/producers and to the associations of exporters/producers in Brazil and Israel, to the exporters/producers and to the associations of exporters/producers in India, to the importers and to the associations of importers in the Community which cooperated in the investigation that led to the existing measures or which are listed in the request, and to the authorities of India, Brazil and Israel.

In order to obtain the information it deems necessary for its investigation, the Commission will send questionnaires to the exporters/producers and to the associations of exporters/producers in Brazil and Israel, to the exporters/producers and to the associations of exporters/producers in India, to the importers and to the associations of importers in the Community which cooperated in the investigation that led to the existing measures or which are listed in the request, and to the authorities of India, Brazil and Israel.

3.Restrictions on voting rights provided for in the articles of association of the offeree company shall not have effect at the general meeting of shareholders which decides on any defensive measures in accordance with Article 9.

In order to obtain the information it deems necessary for its investigation, the Commission will send questionnaires to the exporters/producers and to the associations of exporters/producers in Morocco, the exporters/producers and to the associations of exporters/producers in the People's Republic of China, to the importers and to the associations of importers in the Community which cooperated in the investigation that led to the existing measures or which are listed in the request and to the authorities of the People's Republic of China and Morocco.

In order to obtain the information it deems necessary for its investigation, the Commission will send questionnaires to the exporters/producers and to the associations of exporters/producers in India and Thailand, to the exporters/producers and to the associations of exporters/producers in the People's Republic of China, to the importers and to the associations of importers in the Community which cooperated in the investigation that led to the existing measures or which are listed in the request, and to the authorities of the People's Republic of China, India and Thailand.

the implementation, from the interim period, of definite preparatory measures for adopting and applying the "acquis communautaire" particularly in the field of production, processing and marketing structures and in that of producers' associations;

One party argued that the absence of a reaction from its side representing the interests of consumer associations should not be interpreted as a lack of interest, and even more be used to conclude that the impact on consumers of any anti-dumping measures will be limited.

An Agreement in the form of an Exchange of Letters has been concluded on 22 December 2003 between the European Community and the Kingdom of Morocco concerning reciprocal liberalisation measures and the replacement of Protocols 1 and 3 to the EC-Morocco Association Agreement.

The Association of Teachers in Slovenia expressed their support for the autonomy of the teacher's assembly when deciding on educational measures which, owing to the emergency situations and the serious implications of the case, cannot meet all formal legal procedures.

An Agreement in the form of an Exchange of Letters has been concluded on 22 December 2003 between the European Community and the State of Israel concerning reciprocal liberalisation measures and the replacement of the Protocols Nos 1 and 2 to the EC-Israel Association Agreement.

Prior to the imposition of measures, certain importers and their associations requested that a system be introduced which would allow importers who traditionally import the product concerned from PRC to have guaranteed quantities based on their traditional level of imports from PRC.

In addition to the verification visits undertaken at the companies mentioned in recital 6 of the provisional Regulation, it should be noted that after the imposition of provisional measures, on-spot verification visits were carried out at the premises of the following companies and Associations:

By means of Common Position 2002/145/CFSP of 18 February 2002 concerning restrictive measures against Zimbabwe(2), the Council expressed serious concern about the situation in Zimbabwe and in particular about serious violations of human rights by the Government of Zimbabwe, including violations of the freedoms of opinion, of association and of peaceful assembly.

Having regard to Council Decision 2003/917/EC of 22 December 2003 on the conclusion of an Agreement in the form of an Exchange of Letters between the European Community and the State of Israel concerning reciprocal liberalisation measures and the replacement of Protocols 1 and 2 to the EC-Israel Association Agreement(1), and in particular Article 2 thereof,

These coordinating measures do not prevent Member States from applying provisions requiring directors and managers to have technical qualifications or from requiring the memorandum or articles of association, general and special policy conditions, tariffs and any other documents necessary for the normal exercise of supervision to be approved.

The beneficiaries of support measures may include not only States and regions but also local authorities, regional organisations, public agencies, local or traditional communities, organisations supporting business, private operators, cooperatives, mutual societies, associations, foundations and non-governmental organisations.";

Having regard to Council Regulation (EC) No 2007/2000 of 18 September 2000 introducing exceptional trade measures for countries and territories participating in or linked to the European Union's stabilisation and association process, amending Regulation (EC) No 2820/98 and repealing Regulations (EC) No 1763/1999 and (EC) No 6/2000(1), and in particular Article 12(3) thereof,

The Council, acting by a qualified majority on a proposal from the Commission and after consulting the European Parliament, shall adopt the measures necessary for the implementation of paragraph 1. The Council shall act unanimously for the association agreements referred to in Article 310 and for the agreements to be concluded with the States which are candidates for accession to the Union.

Obviously, the ethics commission, then presided over by Kristina Lovrenčič, ignored the hints that came from politicians and demonstrated a considerable measure of independence not only from politics but from the management of the association of journalists as well. The latter subsequently replaced Bogdan Novak without the help of the ethics commission, which proved that political rulers of the time still held the reins to a certain extent.

To that end, restrictions on the transfer of securities, restrictions on voting rights, extraordinary appointment rights and multiple voting rights should be removed or suspended during the time allowed for the acceptance of a bid and when the general meeting of shareholders decides on defensive measures, on amendments to the articles of association or on the removal or appointment of board members at the first general meeting of shareholders following closure of the bid.

Moreover, even if the CCITT membership became governmental as a result of the separation of regulatory and operational activities of the telecommunications administrations, Article 90 in association with Article 85 could still apply either against the State measures implementing the CCITT recommendations and the recommendations themselves on the basis of Article 90 (1), or if there is no such national implementing measure, directly against the telecommunications organizations which followed the recommendation (39).

When the Council takes decisions and when the Committee of the European Development Fund gives opinions within the framework of the Internal Agreement on measures to be taken and procedures to be followed for the implementation of the Convention of Association between the European Economic Community and the African and Malagasy States associated with that Community, signed on 29 July 1969, of the Internal Agreement on the financing and administration of Community aid, signed on 29 July 1969, and of the Internal Agreement on measures to be taken and procedures to be followed for the implementation of the Agreement establishing an Association between the European Economic Community and the United Republic of Tanzania the Republic of Uganda and the Republic of Kenya, signed on 24 September 1969, only the Votes of the original Member States shall be counted, as the case may be, either in accordance with the weighted voting in force before accession for calculating a qualified majority or in accordance with Article 13 (3) of the above-mentioned Internal Agreement on the financing and administration of Community aid.

Council Regulation (EC) No 2007/2000 of 18 September 2000 introducing exceptional trade measures for countries and territories participating in or linked to the European Union's Stabilisation and Association process, amending Regulation (EC) No 2820/98, and repealing Regulations (EC) No 1763/1999 and (EC) No 6/2000(3), as last amended by Commission Regulation (EC) No 2487/2001(4), Council Decision 2001/330/EC of 9 April 2001 on the conclusion of the Interim Agreement on trade and trade-related matters between the European Community, of the one part, and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, of the other part(5), and Council Decision 2001/868/EC of 29 October 2001 concerning the signing on behalf of the Community and the provisional application of the Interim Agreement on trade and trade-related matters between the European Community, of the one part, and the Republic of Croatia, of the other part(6), provide for the import of sugar sector products into the Community without quantity restrictions and exempt from customs duties.

The Council of Association shall, where necessary, recommend appropriate measures.

Where such measures have not been taken, the Council of Association may adopt the necessary provisions for ensuring the proper functioning of the Association.

Turkey shall notify the Association Council of measures taken in pursuance of the above provisions.

The Council of Association shall examine measures which might serve to improve such opportunities.

Two Community user associations submitted information and requested the termination of the measures.

These measures shall be notified immediately to the Association Council and shall be the subject of consultations within the Association Council if the other Party so requests.

Consultations may take place in the Council of Association on the measures taken in pursuance of paragraph 2.
