WHEREAS the Parties wish to strengthen their economic and trade relations and establish lasting relations based on partnership and cooperation;

(d) establish wherever possible common positions in relation to customs in international organisations such as the WTO, the World Customs Organisation (WCO), the United Nations (UN) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD);

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina assists to the Ministry of Finance - the Customs Administration of the Republic of Slovenia in case of uncertainity as to which Entity Customs Administration should receive the request.

The Customs shall institute and maintain formal consultative relationships with the trade to increase co-operation and facilitate participation in establishing the most effective methods of working commensurate with national provisions and international agreements.

References to government procurement in Article 24 of the Central European Free Trade Agreement shall be understood, in relations between the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Bulgaria, as for public procurement and the period mentioned in paragraph 2 of Article 24 shall end by the end of 1999 at the latest.

The working party shall also review, in the light of the notifications received, the adequacy of the above-mentioned questionnaire on state trading and the coverage of state trading enterprises notified under paragraph 1. It shall also develop an illustrative list showing the kinds of relationships between governments and enterprises, and the kinds of activities, engaged in by these enterprises, which may be relevant for the purposes of Article XVII.

The aim of this Agreement of association is to promote a continuous and balanced strengthening of trade and economic relations between the Contracting Parties with equal conditions of competition, and the respect of the same rules, with a view to creating a homogeneous European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as the EEA.

The Head of the delegation of the Ministry of the Economy of the Republic of Slovenia is the State Secretary or the Director General of the Directorate for foreign economic relations in the Ministry of the Economy of the Republic of Slovenia, the Head of the delegation of the Ministry of the Economy of the Slovak Republic is the State Secretary or the Director General of the Section of Trade in the Ministry of the Economy of the Slovak Republic.

The Council shall authorize the Executive Director to establish and maintain close relationships with relevant intergovernmental, governmental and non-governmental organizations in order to help ensure the availability of recent and reliable data and information, including on production and trade in tropical timber, trends and data discrepancies, as well as relevant information on non-tropical timber and on the management of timber producing forests.
