Energy sector. The installation of desulphurisation unit in block 5 of the Šoštanj thermal power plant will reduce SO2 emissions by 70%.

(e) Treatment of residuals, wastes and sewage sludge by, for example, thermal treatment or rendering them inert.

By installing devices for the reduction of NOx emissions and by simultaneously introducing measures concerning traffic, the State would meet the requirements of the Protocol on Nitrogen Oxides.

Waste incineration includes municipal waste, hazardous waste, medical waste and sewage sludge incineration.

New collecting systems with wastewater treatment plants will have to be constructed in settlements with no public collecting systems.

4 For dredged material and sewage sludge, the goal of waste management should be to identify and control the sources of contamination.

The initial phase of the implementation of the NEAP will be focused on the building of those wastewater treatment plants which are related to the fulfilment of the requirements of Slovenian legislation and EU directives.

Noprmaly, infection of the oral cavity is prevented by the mucosal barrier and continous desquamation of oral epithelium, as well as by tooth brushing and other forms of mouth cleaning.

Classification of disinfectants is shown thoroughly: less effective disinfectants, effective disinfectants and solutions with effect of decontamination.

Agriculture. The construction of plants for anaerobic treatment of manure, including the capture and use of gas, on all farms where the production of manure is not co-ordinated with its use in arable farming.

It should be noted that PCDD/F emissions could increase significantly if waste material (sewage sludge, waste oil, rubber wastes, etc.) is added to the fuel.

In the assessment of projects the selection among the proposed solutions and the introduction of environmentally sound and economical methods of disposal of sludge from wastewater treatment plants have to be ensured.

The overall efficiency of flue gas and fugitive emission reductions depends to a great extent on the evacuation performance of the gas and dust collectors (e.g. suction hoods).

(iv) Transfers off-site any pollutant specified in annex II in waste water destined for waste-water treatment in quantities exceeding the applicable threshold specified in annex II, column 1b;

The use of sludge from wastewater treatment plants, silt from river beds and lakes and compost in agriculture is regulated by the Decree on the Input of Hazardous Substances and Plant Nutrients into the Soil.

e. When containers fitted with key locks are used, the keys are to be carefully safeguarded to ensure that no unauthorised person, including cleaners and Security Guards, can gain access to them.

First projections show that building of wastewater treatment plants for settlements with less than 2000 inhabitants and for settlements with between 2000 and 15 000 inhabitants will be carried out in the second phase of the implementation of the NEAP (after 2003).

` Off-site transfer` means the movement beyond the boundaries of the facility of either pollutants or waste destined for disposal or recovery and of pollutants in waste water destined for waste-water treatment;

` Release` means any introduction of pollutants into the environment as a result of any human activity, whether deliberate or accidental, routine or non-routine, including spilling, emitting, discharging, injecting, disposing or dumping, or through sewer systems without final waste-water treatment;

The Government shall recruit and provide an adequate number of local staff such as clerks, personnel for the reproduction and distribution of documents, sound operators, ushers, messengers, cleaners and other workmen required for the proper functioning of the session and possibly some of the required secretaries and typists.

If the threshold in a given sub-column (air, water or land) is exceeded, reporting of releases or, for pollutants in waste water destined for waste-water treatment, transfers to the environmental medium referred to in that sub-column is required with respect to the facility in question, for those Parties which have opted for a system of reporting pursuant to article 7, paragraph 1 (a).

The informing and training of contractors and the control of the trade in chemical preparations should be improved in order to reduce the impact of agriculture on groundwater caused by nitrates, phosphates and pesticides (problematic mainly due to intensive farming in NE Slovenia), organic substances, nitrogen compounds generated at livestock farms, sludge from wastewater treatment plants, bio-technological waste (mycelia), etc.
