Statistical check by attributes

A statistical check by attributes is an inspection in which the measures of length in the sample are classed as defective or not defective in accordance with the provisions of this Directive.

Statistical control of products will be based on attributes and/or variables, entailing sampling schemes with operational characteristics which ensure a high level of safety and performance according to the state of the art.

The morbidity of 10,832 children, born between 1993-1997, was analysed.

Time periods to be covered in a survey

Where the methods used by Member States in compiling the data involve sample methodology, all time periods shall be covered by the survey.

Where the total stock of goods road motor vehicles in a Member State that can be included in the survey is less than 25000 vehicles, or the total stock of vehicles engaged in international transport is less than 3000 vehicles, the minimum number of weeks covered by the survey in a quarter shall be seven.

This review shall be carried out by Eurostat and the national statistics institutes.

Where the total stock of goods road motor vehicles relevant to the survey in a Member State is less than 25000 vehicles, or the total stock of vehicles engaged in international transport is less than 3000 vehicles, the percentage standard error (95 % confidence) of the annual estimates for tonnes transported, tonne-kilometres performed and total kilometres travelled loaded for total goods road transport and for national goods road transport shall not be greater than ± 7 %.

This statistical sampling check shall be carried out in accordance with the accepted methods of quality acceptance inspection.

Quality indicators in the report provide an overview of various quality components and comparability between statistical surveys and between countries.

This Annex lays down the procedures for the statistical checking of measuring container bottles in order to meet the requirements of Article 2 of the Directive and of Section 6 of Annex I.

The quality of the statistical information produced, its evaluation by means of common indicators and transparency in this field are important objectives, which call for regulation at Community level.

If the percentage standard errors of the data provided by a Member State pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 1172/98 have been calculated for a number of years and Eurostat has noted that these standard errors are within the limits laid down in Article 2 of this Regulation, Eurostat may release that Member State from the obligation to provide Table B1 or Table B2 on a quarterly basis.

Under Article 1(5) of Regulation (EC) No 2150/2002, the Commission is required to establish a table of equivalence between the statistical nomenclature of Annex III thereto and the list of waste established by Commission Decision 2000/532/EC.

For Japan, as no exporting producer from Japan cooperated in the present investigation, the only available prices are the Eurostat prices or price quotations provided in the review request.

For the preparation of the review mentioned in paragraph 1, the products concerned shall be monitored under the statistical system provided for by Article 5 of Regulation (EEC) No 2658/87 ( 5 ), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 20/89 ( 6 ).
