EEC verification

EEC verification may be carried out in one or more stages.

FOR THE PURPOSE OF EEC VERIFICATION, THE CYLINDER MANUFACTURER SHALL: 5.1.1. provide the inspection body with the EEC pattern approval certificate;

By way of derogation from the requirements of section 3 of Annex II to Directive 76/767/EEC, the inspection body shall affix the EEC verification mark in the following order:

Whereas Council Directive 76/767/EEC of 27 July 1976 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to common provisions for pressure vessels and methods of inspecting them (3), as amended by the Act of Accession of 1979, lays down in particular the procedures of EEC pattern approval and verification for these vessels;

whereas, however, to make verification possible, refunds should be granted only in respect of fish landed in ports situated within the customs territory of the Community as defined by Regulation (EEC) No 1496/68, as amended by the Act of Accession;

describe the specific conformity assessment procedures involving, where appropriate, notified bodies as referred to in Article 8, based on the modules defined in Decision 93/465/EEC to be used to assess either the conformity or the suitability for use of constituents as well as the verification of systems;

states, in each case under consideration, which of the modules defined in Decision 93/465/EEC or, where appropriate, which specific procedures are to be used in order to assess either the conformity or the suitability for use of the interoperability constituents, as well as "EC" verification of the subsystems (Chapter 6).

Whereas Council Directive 76/767/EEC of 27 July 1976 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to common provisions for pressure vessels and methods of inspecting them (4), lays down in particular the procedures of EEC pattern approval and verification for these vessels; whereas according to this Directive it is advisable to lay down the technical requirements to be complied with by EEC-type welded unalloyed steel gas cylinders with a capacity of 0,5 to 150 litres in order to be put into circulation, commercialized and used without restraint after having undergone inspection and bearing accordingly a mark and a symbol,

Member States shall ensure that the tests are carried out in accordance with the provisions relating to good laboratory practice laid down by Council Directive 87/18/EEC of 18 December 1986 on the harmonization of laws, regulations and administrative provisions relating to the application of the principles of good laboratory practice and the verification of their applications for tests on chemical substances (1) and Council Directive 88/320/EEC of 9 June 1988 on the inspection and verification of good laboratory practice (GLP) (2).
