Definicija: The Committee follows the situation on the transport market and advises the Commission on the subject; it further advises the Commission on the following: the collection of data necessary to monitor the market and to detect a possible crisis, any request from a Member State to investigate, the measures proposed to resolve a crisis, in particular on the practical application of such measures.

Definicija: The Committee assists the Commission in implementing the programme to promote the development of the European audiovisual industry and delivers its opinion on a draft of measures concerning the above programme.

Definicija: The Committee assists the Commission in the implementation of the Force programme (an action programme for the development of continuing vocational training in the European Community) and delivers its opinion on a draft of the measures concerning the general guidelines governing the Force programme; the general guidelines on the financial assistance provided by the Community (amounts, duration and recipients of assistance); questions relating to the overall balance of the Force programme, including the breakdown between the various actions.

Definicija: The Committee delivers its opinion on the drafts of decisions to be taken by the Commission with reference to granting financal assistance for projects or measures which contribute to the realization of the common transport policy, in particular to the harmonious development of a balanced infrastructure network.

Definicija: The Committee delivers its opinion on a draft of the measures to be taken under the programme with the following objectives: - encouraging the 'health promotion` approach in Member States' health policies by lending support to various cooperation measures (exchanges of experience, pilot projects, networks, etc.), - encouraging the adoption of healthy lifestyles and behaviour, - promoting awareness of risk factors and health-enhancing aspects, - encouraging intersectoral and multidisciplinary approaches to health promotion, taking account of the socio-economic factors and the physical environment necessary for the health of the individual and the community, especially for disadvantaged groups.
