Definicija: The Committee delivers its opinion on a draft of the measures to be taken under the programme with the following objectives: - encouraging the 'health promotion` approach in Member States' health policies by lending support to various cooperation measures (exchanges of experience, pilot projects, networks, etc.), - encouraging the adoption of healthy lifestyles and behaviour, - promoting awareness of risk factors and health-enhancing aspects, - encouraging intersectoral and multidisciplinary approaches to health promotion, taking account of the socio-economic factors and the physical environment necessary for the health of the individual and the community, especially for disadvantaged groups.

Definicija: The Advisory Committee assists the Commission in carrying out the activities relating to the Community's market access strategy, specified in Article 1 of Council Decision of 24 September 1998 on the implementation by the Commission of activities relating to the Community market access strategy.

Definicija: The Committee delivers its opinion on a draft of the measures aimed at approximating the laws, regulations and administrative provisions of the Member States and at protecting human health and the environment: - when carrying out the deliberate release of genetically modified organisms into the environment, - when placing on the market products containing, or consisting of, genetically modified organisms intended for subsequent deliberate release into the environment.

Definicija: The Committee assists the Commission in the implementation of the directive, the purpose of which is to contribute to the improvement of air safety by checking third countries aircraft whenever there is suspicion that they are not operated in accordance with international safety standards.
