Definicija: The Committee may be consulted by the Commission on all questions relating to the promotion and implementation of Community policy on the social economy; its task shall be to advise the Commission on all problems relating, in particular, to:- actions and programmes in favour of cooperatives, mutual societies, associations and foundations in the Community,- the participation of cooperatives, mutual societies, associations and foundations in the implementation of the various Community policies,- the role played by the sector of cooperatives, mutual societies, associations and foundations in creating jobs and strengthening economic and social cohesion,- proposals for legislative measures concerning cooperatives, mutual societies, associations and foundations.

Definicija: The Committee delivers its opinion on the measures to be taken in accordance with the Regulation applying to the production, importation, exportation, supply, use and recovery of chlorofluorocarbons, other fully halogenated chlorofluorocarbons, halons, carbon tetrachloride, 1,1,1-trichloroethane, methyl bromide, hydrobromofluorocarbons and hydrochlorofluorocarbons, and to the reporting of information on these substances.

Definicija: The Committee assists the Commission in implementing Council Regulation ( EEC ) No 3907/91 of 19 December 1991 on action by the Community relating to nature conservation ( ACNAT ) and, in particular, in selecting the projects for which financial support may be granted; the projects should in particular contribute to the maintenance or re-establishment of biotopes which are the habitat of endangered species or seriously threatened habitats of particular importance to the Community.

Definicija: Together with other committees set up by Commission Decision 98/235/EC, the committee may be consulted by the Commission on all matters relating to the common agricultural policy and the policy of rural development and its implementation, and in particular the common organisations of the market and the measures which the Commission is called on to take in that context.
