Definicija: The Committee assists the Commission in implementing Council Regulation ( EEC ) No 3907/91 of 19 December 1991 on action by the Community relating to nature conservation ( ACNAT ) and, in particular, in selecting the projects for which financial support may be granted; the projects should in particular contribute to the maintenance or re-establishment of biotopes which are the habitat of endangered species or seriously threatened habitats of particular importance to the Community.

Definicija: The task of the Committee is to adjust to technical progress those Directives which concern the abolition of technical barriers to trade in fertilizers. It delivers its opinion on the draft of the measures to be adopted.

Definicija: The Committee was set up to improve and simplify the environment for enterprises and in particular SMEs. It delivers its opinion on a draft of the measures to be taken in accordance with the Directive concerning the methods of testing the biodegradability of non-ionic surfactants present in the detergents.

Definicija: The Committee assists the Commission in the implemeting the Plan of Action in the field of radioactive waste, by helding regular consultations on the plan so that: - a single framework can be provided for considering improvements through technological development to techniques for the final storage of the waste in question as well as for the legal, administrative and social problems that have to be solved, - a contribution can be made in establishing guidelines for research work in the field of radioactive waste.

Definicija: The Committee gives its opinion on the draft measures aimed at harmonization of national regulations on the publication, particularly by means of labelling, of information on energy consumption and information supplementary thereto for certain household appliances.
