Definicija: The Committee delivers its opinion on the draft of the measures aimed at preventing major accidents which might result form certain industrial acitivities, and limiting their consequences for man and environment.

Definicija: The Committee assists the Commission in the management of the framework programme contributing to guaranteing the security of energy supplies, ensuring competitiveness, promoting the compatibility of the development of the energy market with environmental protection objectives and also to greater transparency, coherence and coordination of all the Community's energy actions in the field of energy policy and ensure that they mesh effectively with the actions taken in the framework of other Community policies.

Definicija: The Advisory Committee assists the Commission in carrying out the activities relating to the Community's market access strategy, specified in Article 1 of Council Decision of 24 September 1998 on the implementation by the Commission of activities relating to the Community market access strategy.

Definicija: The Committee delivers opinions on the following points: (a) - general guidelines for the Community activities involving the renewal and rationalisation of Community action concerning analysis, research and exchange of information and experience in the field of employment and the labour market - the annual programme of work and matters concerning the financial breakdown of the above activities; (b) - detailed rules for selecting activities supported by the Community, the criteria for monitoring and assessing such activities individually and as a whole and the procedure for disseminating and transferring the results.
