Definicija: The Committee is one of the management and coordination advisory committees (CGCs) whose mission is to assist the Commission in its task of defining and preparing research, development and demonstration activities and in its management and coordination functions which are connected with implementation of the Community scientific and technical strategy.

Definicija: The function of the contact committee is: (a) to facilitate harmonized implementation of Council Directive 91/308/EEC of 10 June 1991 on prevention of the use of the financial system for the purpose of money laundering through regular consultation on any practical problems arising from its application and on which exchanges of view are deemed useful; (b) to facilitate consultation between the Member States on the more stringent or additional conditions and obligations which they may lay down at national level; (c) to advise the Commission, if necessary, on any supplements or amendments to be made to the above Directive or on any adjustments deemed necessary.

Definicija: The Committee follows the situation on the transport market and advises the Commission on the subject; it further advises the Commission on the following: the collection of data necessary to monitor the market and to detect a possible crisis, any request from a Member State to investigate, the measures proposed to resolve a crisis, in particular on the practical application of such measures.

Definicija: The Committee assists the Commission in the management of the framework programme contributing to guaranteing the security of energy supplies, ensuring competitiveness, promoting the compatibility of the development of the energy market with environmental protection objectives and also to greater transparency, coherence and coordination of all the Community's energy actions in the field of energy policy and ensure that they mesh effectively with the actions taken in the framework of other Community policies.

Definicija: The Committee assists the Commission in the implementation of the programme for improving the efficiency of electricity use and delivers its opinion on a draft of measures to be taken in this respect.
