Definicija: The function of the contact committee is: (a) to facilitate harmonized implementation of Council Directive 91/308/EEC of 10 June 1991 on prevention of the use of the financial system for the purpose of money laundering through regular consultation on any practical problems arising from its application and on which exchanges of view are deemed useful; (b) to facilitate consultation between the Member States on the more stringent or additional conditions and obligations which they may lay down at national level; (c) to advise the Commission, if necessary, on any supplements or amendments to be made to the above Directive or on any adjustments deemed necessary.

Definicija: The Advisory Committee assists the Commission in the implementation of Council Regulation (EEC) No 2830/77 of 12 December 1977 on the measures necessary to achieve comparability between the accounting systems and annual accounts of railway undertakings. It gives its opinion on any question relating to the problems and solution connected with improving the comparability of the transposed annual accounts of railway undertakings and making progress towards greater harmonization of their accounting systems.

The representative of the Commission shall submit to the committee the draft measures drawing up - or amending - a list of the products or product categories which are not accompanied by a document or not market in accordance with the Community or national rules on product safety applicable in the Member State in which release for free circulation is sought. The committee shall deliver its opinion on the draft.

The Committee further assists the Commission in establishing criteria enabling Member States to evaluate whether the requirements for exports of radioactive waste are met.

Definicija: The Committee assists the Commission in implementing the programme contributing to Europe's competitiveness in the food industry, to the improvement of food safety and quality for the consumer and to the strengthening of food science and technology in Europe.
