Definicija: Zdravilu z na podlagi vloge za zvišanje najvišje dovoljene cene, mnenja komisije za zdravila ter ugotovljenega javnega interesa na področju zdravja in ekonomskih utemeljitev o tveganju, ki bi nastalo zaradi motene preskrbe z zdravili, organ, pristojen za zdravila, določi izredno višjo dovoljeno ceno. Izredna višja dovoljena cena zdravila je cena zdravila, ki je določena na podlagi tega pravilnika in se sme uporabljati v prometu na debelo ter presega najvišjo dovoljeno ceno zdravila.
