Definicija: The function of the Contact Committee is: (a)to facilitate the harmonized implementation of Council Directive 85/611/EEC of 20 December 1985 on the coordination of laws, regulations and administrative provisions relating to undertakings for collective investment in transferable securities (UCITS) through regular consultations on any practical problems arising from its application and on which exchanges of views are deemed useful; (b)to facilitate consultation between Member States either on more rigorous or additional relevant requirements, or provisions which they may adopt; (c)to advise the Commission, if necessary, on additions or amendments to be made to the above Directive.

Definicija: The Committee was set up by Council Regulation (EC) No 517/94 of 7 March 1994 on common rules for imports of textile products from certain third countries not covered by bilateral agreements, protocols or other arrangements, or by other specific Community import rules to examine the terms and conditions of importation, import trends and the various aspects of the economic and commercial situation and, where appropriate, the measures to be taken in this field.

Definicija: Within the Committee, the consultations on (a) on questions concerning shipping matters and dealt with in international organizations; and (b) on relations with third countries in shipping matters, and on the negotiation, conclusion and functioning of bilateral or multilateral agreements in this sphere take place. The Committee further delivers its opinion on a draft of the measures to be taken in this regard.
