Definicija: The Committee assists the Commission in carrying out the responsibilities conferred on it by Council Regulation (EEC) No 3911/92 of 9 December 1992 on the export of cultural goods and examines any matter concerning the implementation of the Regulation. It also delivers its opinion on a draft of the measures to be taken.

Definicija: The committee delivers its opinion on draft measures concerning inter alia the priorities and general guidelines for the measures concerning conservation, safeguarding and development of the European cultural heritage through European cooperation, cooperation for the exchange of experiences and the development of techniques applied to heritage, public access to, participation in and awareness of the cultural heritage, cooperation with third countries and international organizations, and the annual programme resulting therefrom.

Definicija: The Committee assists the Commission in implementing the 'Culture 2000' programme, which contributes to the promotion of a cultural area common to the European people, supporting cooperation between creative artists, cultural operators and the cultural institutions of the Member States.
